FAQ

  • What exactly is Naturopathy?

Naturopaths are qualified health professionals (BaHSc) who take a holistic approach to health. This means that naturopaths aim to address the root causes of your health concerns, providing client-specific treatment plans tailored to your unique circumstances.

We combine evidence-based medicine with the body’s natural healing abilities to help restore your health. Our approach includes tools such as herbal medicine, dietary adjustments, food as medicine, targeted nutritional supplementation, and lifestyle recommendations.

Naturopathy focuses on empowering individuals to take control of their health and that of their families. By minimising symptoms, supporting the body’s innate healing capabilities, and promoting balance, we aim to reduce the likelihood of illness in the future.

  • What can I expect during an initial naturopathy consultation?

This will be a comprehensive review of your personal and family medical history, as well as your current diet and lifestyle practices. We will identify your main health concerns and, together, develop new strategies through your personalised treatment plan to help you achieve your health goals.

We will also review any past pathology results, or I may provide referrals for more comprehensive testing if needed. Your personalised prescription, including supplements in the form of capsules, powders, or liquid herbs, will be tailored to address your specific health concerns.

  • How quickly can I expect results?

The timeline for your health journey depends entirely on your presenting health concerns, the severity of your symptoms, how long you've been experiencing them, and your level of commitment to your treatment plan. Given the numerous variables involved, it's not possible to set a specific timeframe for your health journey.

  • Can you collaborate with my Doctor?

As your naturopath, your health and well-being are my top priority. With your consent, I will work closely with other healthcare practitioners to ensure you receive comprehensive care. I will never advise you to stop taking any prescribed medication, and I always thoroughly assess any potential interactions between herbs, nutrients, and pharmaceutical drugs. Additionally, I may provide a referral letter to your doctor for any pathology tests that we deem necessary to support your health journey.

  • How do online consultations work?

Online appointments are conducted via Zoom, a secure and user-friendly video platform that can be used on desktop computers, laptops, or mobile phones. Once you've booked your consultation, you'll receive a confirmation email with detailed instructions on how to join the Zoom session. I recommend downloading the Zoom app onto your device prior to our consultation to ensure everything runs smoothly.

  • How do I get supplements and herbal formulas off you if its online?

If your treatment plan includes recommendations for herbal or nutritional supplements, I will provide you with links to secure third-party companies (such as Vital.ly and Ariya Health) where you can purchase your prescribed products directly. These companies will have a copy of your prescription and will provide all the information you need to take the products in line with your treatment plan.

  • Are supplements and herbal formulas included in the cost?

No, all herbal formulas and nutritional supplements prescribed during your consultation are an additional cost to the client. Pricing will vary based on your specific healthcare needs. There is no pressure to purchase supplements of any kind. I will work with you to accommodate any financial goals or constraints you may have. We can achieve significant progress even without the use of supplements.

  • Id love to study Naturopathy too! Where did you study?

I completed my Bachelor of Health Science (Naturopathy) at Endeavour College of Natural Health in Sydney, which also has campuses across Australia, including Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Perth. The program is a four-year degree that covers a wide range of subjects, some of which can be studied online. The final clinical placements are held at the Wellnation Student Clinic on campus. It was truly the most rewarding and challenging four years.
